'SEOUL FASHION WEEK F/W 2019' KICKS OFF WITH '10 SOUL' POP-UP OPENING

[March 20, 2019(Wed) - Seoul] Hosted by the Seoul Metropolitan Government and organized by the Seoul Design Foundation(CEO Choi Kyung Ran), Seoul Fashion Week F/W 2019 has kicked off with the fabulous 'Seoul's 10Soul' pop-up opening reception.
Planned to run for five days from March 20 to 24 at the Hino's Recipe on the fourth floor of Design Lab, DDP, the '10 Soul' pop-up exhibition aims to feature 10 designers with global competence selected by the Seoul Metropolitan Government and the Seoul Design Foundation. The '10 Soul' designers were strictly chosen among many SFW participating brands in its F/W 2018 and S/S 2019 seasons through a vote by international buyers. This season, the '10 Soul' designers include Han Hyun Min of Munn, winner of the Best Designer in Seoul Fashion Week 2018; Jo Eun Hye of BOURIE; Park Hwan Sung of D-ANTIDOTE; Lee Han Chul of HAN CHUL LEE; Park Seung Gun of PUSH BUTTON; Yoon Chon Ho of YCH; Lee Moo Yeol and Kim Min Hee of YOUSER; Kim Bona and Lim Jae Hyuk of BESFXXK, newcomers to SFW from 2019; Lee Jae Hyung of MAXXIJ; and Lee Kyu Ho of MOHO.
The '10 Soul' opening reception held at 7:00pm, March 19 was graced with the presence of many fashion experts, media members and, of course, 10 selected designers, all praying for the success of Seoul Fashion Week F/W 2019 and its pop-up exhibition. The '10 Soul' pop-up exhibition will provide visitors with unusual chances to wear and buy the fabulous items in an effort to further popularize domestic designer brands.
Jung Ku-ho, executive director of Seoul Fashion Week, said at the opening reception, "I'm so glad to open Seoul Fashion Week with this '10 Soul' pop-up." "Korean designers are successfully enhancing their global awareness and achieving more fruitful results in terms of business. Apart from the 10 Soul pop-up, visitors can enjoy a colorful array of runway shows and events. So I hope to get a lot of support from them," added the director.
On behalf of '10 Soul' designers, Park Seung Gun of PUSH BUTTON said, "I'm so happy that we, the '10 Soul' designers, have featured our creations at numerous big-scale platforms and even at Galeries Lafayette, Paris. I hope that the Seoul Fashion Week F/W 2019 will be another great success."
Seoul Fashion Week F/W 2019 is scheduled to take place at Dongdaemun Design Plaza from March 19(Tue) to 24(Sun). Supported by various sponsors including YOOX, Marriott international, ABSOLUT VODKA, Coca-Cola and Dong-A TV, and with the opening pop-up opening event of 'Seoul's 10Soul', Seoul Fashion Week will feature a total of 37 Seoul Collection shows including those of 33 leading domestic designer brands, three corporate brands(PEOPLE OF THE WORLD, sfdf X IISE, FOLLET X YOUSER), and London-based Cottweiler, part of SFW's international exchanges scheme.
In addition, Seoul Fashion Week will present fabulous runway events of 20 'Generation Next' brands, newly introduced 'SFW Young Talents Show' for young, promising design students, and the globally recognized 'Generation Next Seoul(GN_S) Trade Show' with the participation of 95 designer brands. Besides, a total of 16 off-shows including that of THE STUDIO K by designer Hong Hye Jin will take place all across Seoul, further heating up the fever of Seoul Fashion Week.
