2019 S/S HERA Seoul Fashion Week Announces the beginning with Honorary Designer Young-Mi Woo’s Spectacular Opening Show

[Seoul, October 16, 2018] 2019 S/S HERA Seoul Fashion Week hosted by the Seoul Design Foundation (CEO, Choi Kyoung Ran) began the prelude to the spectacular festival with honorary designer Young-Mi Woo’s opening show on October 15th (Mon) 8 pm at the Grass Hill of the Dongdaemun Design Plaza (DDP) Salimteo.
Young-Mi Woo is the appointed honorary designer of the 2019 S/S HERA Seoul Fashion Week for her devotion to the development of the Korean fashion industry. Designer Young-Mi Woo decorated the Fashion Week’s opening by showcasing the celebration of the 30th anniversary of the global contemporary brand, Solid Homme’s collection.
The opening collection suggested a new style of ‘Solid Man’ by combining last 18 F/W season’s ‘Anti War’ concept with the show’s main theme, . At the opening show, a hundred of models each showed different look of the 18 F/W and 19 S/S, walking the runaway between giant structures inspired by Mu Kang Chai of Vietnam.
The opening show, combined with sensational live performance of artist CIFIKA, led the start of 2019 S/S HERA Seoul Fashion Week into a festival mode. Honorary designer Young-Mi Woo said “It was an honor to celebrate 30th anniversary of Solid Homme, which experienced 30 year upheavals with Korean’s menswear, at the world’s attention receiving HERA Seoul Fashion Week”, and added “I hope Seoul Fashion Week to continue to be a venue for diverse fashion designers in Korea every season”.
Through the fashion week’s opening show, designer Young-Mi Woo’s Solid Homme, Korea’s only global contemporary brand, proved its particularly unique position in the men's wear market and showed the level as well as status of Korea’s menswear designer brands. In addition, renowned personnel such as Karen Veent, vice president of the Printemps department store based in France, celebrated opening show with their presence.
On October 16th(Tue) 2019 S/S HERA Seoul Fashion Week will proceed with honorary designer Choon-Moo Park’s Special Exhibition <無 [From Moo]> at the DDP Pathway along with the Seoul Collection, fashion show with 39 Korea’s top designer brands and 3 company brands such as SJYP, Disney X LOTTE Dpt., CHOIBOKO. In addition, 'Generations Next Seoul', a special order consultation meeting with 121 leading and rising designer brands, and ‘Generation Next Fashion Show', to be held 14 times with the participation of 24 brands, are on the schedule. Further, the ‘Off-Show’, with more than 33 brands participating, will be held throughout the Seoul city, including Hannam-dong and Jong-ro, each brand presenting with unique fashion shows and collections in places that match their individuality.
2019 S/S HERA Seoul Fashion Week provides with various programs so the public can watch and enjoy the festival altogether. In addition the show will be broadcasted on-line and on mobile channels including Seoul Fashion Week official website, Donga TV style live and SNS channel, Naver V-LIVE so anyone can enjoy anywhere, anytime.
Further, a variety of programs have been prepared inside and outside the DDP so that citizens can experience the fashion festival. On October 18th (Thur), ‘Global Fashion Mentoring Seminar’, program which provides the opportunity to meet with famous global fashion experts, will open and mentor will discuss on 2019’s two most interested topics, and . At the 19 S/S HERA Seoul Fashion Week, the 2018 F/W collection of 10SOUL selected as this year’s promising brands are to be exhibited at the DDP Café de Pesonnia. Lastly, Fashion Week’s main sponsor, Amore Pacific Co., Ltd. – HERA, will open booths to provide various programs to enjoy, including photo events, along with LG Tromm Styler and Dal.Komm Coffee b;eat.
